I have been blogging for over a year now and have decided to update my site and use my own domain. Let me know what you think about the new format.

I want thank Nurse B, 911 at Triaging My Way To Financial Success for all the help in making the new site possible. I still have to make a few small changes to the site but everything should be up and running.

On to dividend stocks
I have owned ACAS for a few years and seen the stock dip under $18 a share in the month of July. The stock has rebounded a little since then and the dividend yield has reached over 20%. I still feel confident in the companies ACAS owns and their increasing asset management business.

Recent quarterly results
ACAS announced last night their results for the second quarter of 2008 and their third quarter 2008 dividend. ACAS reported a 5% decline in net operating income for the second quarter. Realized earnings for the second quarter declined to $194 million, or $0.95 per share and missed analysts' consensus estimate by one cent.

American Capital declared a third quarter 2008 regular dividend of $1.05 per share to record holders as of October 6, 2008, payable on October 14, 2008. This is a 14% increase over the third quarter 2007 dividend of $0.92 per share. American Capital has paid a total of $2.5 billion in dividends and paid or declared dividends of $29.25 per share since its August 1997 IPO at $15.00 per share.

American Capital noted that realized earnings per share for the second quarter covered 92% of the second quarter dividend of $1.03 per share.

American Capital reiterates its 2008 dividend forecast of $4.19 per share, a 13% growth over total 2007 dividends of $3.72 per share. The fourth quarter of 2008 dividend per share is forecast to be $1.10 per share, a 10% increase over the fourth quarter of 2007 dividend.

The stock is up over 5% in early trading today.

Disclosure: The Div Guy owns share of ACAS at the time of this post.

I like the new url also - very easy to find and remember. Keep up the great work!
