Do you do alot of 'closing out' of a position or do you usually keep a stock once you purchase it? Of course I could see you selling a company if they stopped paying dividends, but for the most part do you -set it and forget it- as long as the dividends are coming in?
What is the max amount of stocks do you want in the portfolio?
BOA and ACAS pay dividends ?????
when do companies that quit or lower to nothing get dropped from active and index funds???
I usually close out a position completely. In the case of DSX, I sold about half my shares when the stock hit $40. I plan to close out my position in DSX next year. I currenly hold 37 stocks but I plan to keep that number to 30 or under in the future.
I owned BOA and ACAS when they were paying a dividend. I did not set a drop in dividend as a strict criteria to sell. I am planning on selling a few non-dividend stocks early next year.
